ENGRAINED
A short film written by Sam Irving
When preparing for a blind date, Nick receives some news from his past. He feels he has no choice but to go through with the date, otherwise he faces an evening alone. But this probably isn’t the best night to meet someone new.

Additionally, Pip has lent his expertise as a script consultant on Belgrade Film and Digital's online series 'SeaView'. He regularly works at NFTS and MET Film School, assisting directing students in learning how to work with actors. Josh Harper
Josh is a director, script editor and actor who grew up in Worcester. Being the son of actors, there was only one way this was going to go - much to his parents’ dismay. Josh trained at the Birmingham School of Acting where he first met Pip (both 18, wide-eyed, and sporting a pair of tights). As an actor he has worked for the BBC, ITV and the RSC. More recently, Josh has been focusing on the industry behind the lens, working as a runner on A Spy Among Friends (ITV) and assistant directing the feature film Giddy Stratospheres. In 2023 Josh was mentored by Kate Oates (Head of Drama Productions at the BBC) on a script and story course, focused around the show Eastenders. Experiencing working with writers, and script and story professionals, Josh was inspired to write and direct his own short film which will be released in 2024.

Sam Irving
Sam is a seaside Yorkshire boy from Scarborough where he grew up as a member of the Stephen Joseph Youth Theatre. This took him onto further training alongside Pip at York College until he trained professionally as an actor in Manchester. Alongside his actor training he took screenwriting classes. He decided to leave The North in 2015 when he moved to London to pursue his dream of working in a Greene King pub in Peckham. In order to spend less time with actors like himself, he transferred his skillset to writing to be able to spend more time on his own in front of a laptop – his true calling!
